Vortaunus Museum, located directly on historic market square, was opened in 1987. The exhibits tell the history of Oberursel and its surroundings. The long-term exposition includes the following topics:

The Mills on Ursel Creek
The Celts in the Heidetraenk-Oppidum
The Water Castle Bommersheim during the Middle Ages
The Artist Hans Thoma
The Printing Industry During the Reformation
From a Children´s Car to the Soapbox Derby
Geology and Mineralogy in the Taunus Mountains
