Prior to that, in 1319 the decision had been made to construct a fortress chapel which was to be dedicated to Saint Aureus und Justina. It was not until 1740 that a Catholic church was built in Bommersheim. The vacancy of the priest has been filled according to the decision of the priests´ union of Oberursel; in 1888, the union dissolved.

1951/1953 Due to a population increase resulting from refugees and people living in exile, new districts for residencies were constructed, e.g. in “Odenwald-/Spessartstreet” (1951/1953) as well as 1958 et sqq. the “Hermann-Ortloff-Settlement”.
