Steam Tram
A must for all prospective locomotive engineers: The Steam Tram Club´s garden railroad construction offers steam and diesel locomotives on 5 and 7 tracks. Length including turning platform, tunnels, holding tracks and bridges totals about 900 meters. Rides for both kids and adults.
Forest Museum
Explore the history of our forest in the Forest Museum of the “Haeschenschule” (Bunny´s School). After all, the city forest of Oberursel once belonged to the Hohemark, a community forest dating back to Teutonic and Celtic times. The history of the Hohemark, being unique within all of Germany, has been documented here.
The Arboretum offers 60 species of trees on display. The school forest is located on the upper end of the Altenhoeferwegs - the street on the town side of the Maasgrund. Since there is no parking available we suggest not to drive there by car. Exiting at subway station „Kupferhammer“ the footpath is signposted.
Visits to the museum and guided tours require prior notification.
